How does the aspect ratio calculator simplify dimensions?
Enter a positive whole-number width and height separated by a comma. The calculator finds their greatest common divisor and divides both values by it, so 1920, 1080 becomes 16:9.
What does the decimal ratio and orientation mean?
The decimal ratio is width divided by height. A value above 1 is landscape, below 1 is portrait, and exactly 1 is square.
Can I use this for image, video, and screen dimensions?
Yes. It reduces any positive whole-number pair, so you can check common image, video, display, or print proportions. It does not resize a file or change either dimension.
